Topographic & contour surveys for architects in Pune

Site data you can start designing on.

Topographic, contour and as-built surveys for architects across Pune and PCMC — delivered in your format, at your contour interval, to your title block. On the ground since 2007, with an architectural studio in the same office.

What you receive

What an architect receives — contours, levels and a DWG

  • Contours at your interval — 0.25 m, 0.5 m or 1 m, your call
  • Existing features — structures, compound walls, roads, drains, poles, wells
  • Spot levels on a grid, plus levels at every feature that matters
  • Tree plotting with girth and canopy where the site needs it
  • Boundary corners with DGPS coordinates, checked against the 7/12 or property card
  • Site sections and cross-sections along the lines you nominate
  • DWG, DXF or PDF to your title block and layer convention
  • An area statement you can put straight into a submission

How we work with architects in Pune & PCMC

We ask about layers first

Before the team goes to site we ask for your title block, layer naming and preferred contour interval. A drawing that arrives in your convention is one you can use the same day, rather than one your juniors spend an afternoon re-drafting.

3–7 days for most plots

Most plot-level surveys are delivered within 3–7 days of site access, field work and final drawings included. Larger, hilly or heavily vegetated sites take longer, and we tell you that at quoting stage rather than on the deadline.

Revisions are part of the job

If a level looks wrong against what you see on site, or you need an extra section after the concept changes, we go back. That's included, not a change order.

One person, not a call centre

A single point of contact who knows your project, with daily updates from the field while the survey is running.

An architectural studio in the same office

Arkari Atelier, our in-house architectural and interior studio, sits with the survey team. It means the people measuring your site understand what you'll do with the drawing — and when you need as-built detailing rather than raw data, that's in the same building.

Why an accurate site survey matters before you design

A design drawn on the wrong levels doesn't fail at drawing stage — it fails on site, after excavation, when the plinth doesn't work and the approach road grade won't meet the gate. By then the client is watching.

The same is true of boundaries. A setback measured from a compound wall that sits two feet inside the real boundary is a setback violation waiting for the sanctioning officer to find it. We give you corners with coordinates, cross-referenced against the record, so the line you design to is the line that exists.

Farmhouses and luxury stays: the levels decide the design

Nowhere does this matter more than a farmhouse, villa or luxury stay. These sites sit on sloped, irregular land around Maval, Mulshi, Lonavala, Pawna and Bhor — and the view is usually the whole reason the client bought the plot. The levels decide where the building sits, which way it faces, and what it looks out at.

An infinity edge, a cantilevered deck or a stepped terrace is designed to the centimetre. A pool that reads level against the horizon, an approach road a car can climb in monsoon, a plinth above the line water takes when it runs off the hill — every one of those comes off a contour survey, not off a site visit and a good memory. Guess the levels and the cost reappears later as cut-and-fill, retaining walls and a redesign after excavation has begun.

We also plot the mature trees worth designing around, the wells and natural drains, and the exact boundary of land that is often agricultural and rarely a neat rectangle — the things that turn a beautiful concept into one that can actually be built and sanctioned.

Why Architects Need a Topographic Survey Before They Design

A design is only as good as the ground it sits on. Here is what a topographic survey captures, and why architects who skip it end up redesigning later.

Surveying Sloped & Hilly Plots — Why Boundaries Aren't Straight Lines

On a hill plot the map area and the ground you actually walk on are not the same number, and the boundary rarely runs flat. Here is what buyers in the Mulshi, Lonavala and Maval belt should understand before they trust an 'area' figure.

Survey Requirements for Society Redevelopment in Pune

Before your society signs a redevelopment agreement, get the plot measured. Here are the surveys every committee in Pune needs — and why an accurate area is what decides your achievable built-up.

As-Built Survey — What It Is and When You Need One

An as-built survey records what has actually been built, not what the old drawings claim. Here is what it captures, when architects and owners need one, and how we deliver it as accurate CAD.

Site Surveys for Retail & Commercial Fit-Outs: Why the Shell Comes First

Before a single partition goes up, a fit-out needs an accurate picture of the shell. Here is what a precise as-built survey captures, and why it is the first step of any retail or commercial fit-out.

Scan-to-BIM & Point Clouds Explained — For Redevelopment & Heritage

3D laser scanning and photogrammetry capture a building as millions of measured points. Here is how that point cloud becomes accurate CAD drawings or a BIM model — and why it beats hand measurement for complex, old and redevelopment sites.

Questions architects ask us

How long does a topographic survey take in Pune?
Most plot-level topographic surveys are delivered within 3–7 days of site access, including field work and the final drawings. Large sites, steep terrain and heavy vegetation take longer — we tell you which applies when we quote, not when the deadline arrives.
Can you deliver the survey in DWG to our title block?
Yes. Send us your title block and layer naming before we start and the drawing arrives in your convention — DWG, DXF or PDF. It's a five-minute conversation at the start that saves your team an afternoon of re-drafting later.
What contour interval do you provide?
Whatever your design needs — 0.25 m, 0.5 m or 1 m are the usual choices. Tighter intervals suit sloped sites and cut-and-fill work; 1 m is normally enough on flat urban plots. Tell us the interval with the enquiry and it's captured that way in the field.
Do you do as-built surveys for redevelopment projects?
Yes — measuring an existing building exactly as it stands is routine work for us, for society redevelopment, renovation and fit-outs. Where old drawings are missing or wrong, we can also scan to point cloud and deliver CAD or a Revit model.
Can you survey a sloped or hilly site?
Yes, and it's where a survey earns its money. On sloped land around Maval, Mulshi and Lonavala the levels decide the foundation, the drainage and how much you can actually build. We combine DGPS in the open with a Total Station under tree cover so the contours are real, not interpolated from a handful of points.
Do you survey farmhouse and villa sites outside Pune?
Regularly — Maval, Mulshi, Lonavala, Pawna, Bhor and further out. Farmhouse and luxury-stay plots are usually sloped, irregular and partly wooded, so we combine DGPS in the open with a Total Station under canopy, plot the mature trees and natural drains, and give you contours tight enough to design a pool edge, a deck level and an approach road gradient against.
How much does a survey for architects cost?
It depends on the plot size, the terrain and what the drawing has to show — contours at a tight interval and tree plotting take longer than a boundary check. We give a fixed-scope quote before starting, so the figure you're told is the figure you pay, with no per-visit extras.
